JAMMU, Aug 31: The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has registered a case against the then Patwari Halqa Mand Saleem Banday for attesting mutation in favour of some persons in Udhampur district.
Investigations conducted by the Vigilance Organisation revealed that ownership rights by attesting mutation in favour of Chuni Lal, Subash Chander, Kuldeep Kumar and Mohan Lal were conferred out of the way by Saleem Banday and then Naib Tehsildar Faquir Chand, who has expired.
Section 6 of Jammu and Kashmir Agrarian Reforms Act was neither applicable nor operative in the said case, which were shops, as the Act applied to dwelling house, occupied by a person, who is a tiller.
The public servants along with the beneficiaries had abused their official position, an official handout issued by the Vigilance Organisation said.
