JAMMU, Sept 18: State Vigilance Organisation today registered a case against a Naib Tehsildar and five others related to a land case at Dasgal village in Akhnoor.
After conducting preliminary inquiry, the Vigilance Organisation, Jammu registered a case against Surinder Kumar, the then Patwari Halqa Manda (Akhnoor), now Naib Tehsildar Maira Mandrian and other Revenue officials of Akhnoor along with Rita Devi, wife of Dwarka Nath, Dwarka Nath, son of Mail Ram, Jagdish Kumar, son of Sansar Chand, Anu Keshi, wife of Jagdish Kumar and Rajinder Sharma, son of Ganesh Dass, under Section 5(1) (d), read with 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006 and Section 167 & 120-B.
A Vigilance official said that after verification, it has been established that the then Patwari Surinder Kumar, in collusion with above persons had transferred 10 kanals of land (Shamlat Deh), falling under Khasra No. 631/609, situated at village Dasgal, in the name of his mother-in-law Rita Devi, wife of Dwarka Nath by involving dummy buyers and sellers without handing over physical possession of the land and had affected two mutations in the Revenue record, abusing his official position, at the cost of right and interest of the real owners.
