SRINAGAR, Feb 8: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has booked three Executive Engineers of R&B Department for their alleged involvement in embezzlement of public funds worth lakhs in Bandipora Special Sub Division of Kashmir region.
An official spokesman said that a special team of State Vigilance Organisation after conducting preliminary inquiry into the complaints against the three Executive Engineers of Special Sub Division Bandipora, today registered a case FIR No. 3/ 2017 at Police Station Vigilance, Kashmir.
The then Executive Engineers at Special Sub Division Bandipora, Abdul Aziz Kashmiri, Akhtar Hussain and Sheikh Mohd Hussain have been booked in a fresh case against them. The official said that on the basis of an enquiry conducted in the investigation of case FIR No. 41/2006 P/S VOK which revealed that the then Executive Engineers of SSD R&B Bandipora, in pursuance to criminal conspiracy hatched by them and others by abuse of their official positions during the year 2004-05 have misappropriated an amount of Rs 5,21,210 while effecting purchases of pipes and other material. The purchases were made on exorbitant rates by favouring a particular suppliers M/s Mohd Ashraf Dar & Nazir Ahmed Tramboo, causing loss to the State exchequer.
The SVO Kashmir after registration of fresh case against these three public servants and others , has started investigation.
