SVLARC discusses OBC reservation

JAMMU, Jan 12: Shri Vishwakarma Library and Research Centre organized a one-day conference of lawyers to deliberate upon the issue of OBC reservation in J&K.
Speakers on the occasion termed 2 per cent reservation to OBCs as a cruel joke with the backward communities and demanded implementation of Supreme Court guidelines on OBC reservation. They also expressed their reservation over issuance of separately stapled OBC certificate to them in J&K for Government of India service quota.
The conference was organized under the chairmanship of Principal Ram Lal while Dr Sat Pal and Sudershan Salgotra were the chief guest and guest of honour on the occasion.
Those who spoke on the occasion, included Prof B L Bhardwaj, Madan Lal Kashyap, Amarjeet Chargotra, Pankaj Verma, Ajay Salgotra, Rohit Verma, Kapil Gandhi, Ashok Basotra, Latif Malik, Javed Qureshi and others.
