JAMMU, Oct 25: Shri Vaishno Devi Sewa Committee Baridaran (SVDSCB) has termed appointment of Rachhpal Singh as self styled president of the committee as bogus and also threatened to take legal action against those trying to misuse the organization’s name.
Addressing a joint press conference here today, vice president of the committee, Shanker Sass and general Secretary, Chhanker Singh said that SVDSCB is represented by president Sher Singh, whose election was held on December 23, 2015 under the supervision of 51- members committee at the committee’s headquarters Shri Dhar Sabha, Katra.
“As per constitution of the organization, the term of president is set as minimum three years and Rachhpal is also one of the signatures in the appointment documents of Sher Singh,” they added.
They further informed that a meeting of all Baridars was held at Katra yesterday where a resolution was passed to condemn the appointment of self styled president. “The members observed that floating a new organization by using name of already existing one is illegal since there is only one organization of Baridaran and the committee would take legal action against the self style president if he keeps on misusing name of the organization and does not step down,” they warned.
