SVC’s show cause notice to ADC

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Dec 9: State Vigilance Commission (SVC) comprising Chief Vigilance Commissioner Kuldeep Khoda and Vigilance Commissioners Dr R K Jerath and Gous-ul-Nisa Jeelani has issued a notice to Additional Deputy Commissioner (District Vigilance Officer) Kupwara directing him to show cause as to why the proceedings for non-compliance of orders may not be initiated against him.
The Commission while hearing two complaints against Sarpanch Sohipora, Kupwara and Sarpanch Chogal-B & BDO Chogal Handwara for alleged misuse of their respective official positions and misappropriation of Government funds, had directed the ADC (DVO) Kupwara to conduct on spot enquiries in presence of complainants.
Despite repeated directives, ADC (DVO) Kupwara did not submit the requisite reports for a quite long duration. Accordingly, he was asked to appear in person before the Commission along with required reports but exhibiting lackadaisical approach he neither submitted the reports nor did he appear before the Commission.
Taking serious note of inaction and lackadaisical approach of the ADC (DVO), the Commission has made recommendations to the Chief Secretary that the non-compliance of the orders of the Commission by the ADC, having an effect of shielding and encouraging the culprits allegedly involved in corrupt practices, be reflected in his APR of the current year.
