SVC summons Director of SKICC embezzlement cases

JAMMU: The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) today summoned the Director of Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre in connection with the allegations of covering up embezzlements and maladministration by SKICC officials.

The SVC summoned the Director, SKICC for clarifications regarding a report submitted by him on the cover up of the embezzlements and maladministration by the SKICC officials on next date of hearing, an SVC officer said.

The order was passed after the SVC took cognizance of a complaint lodged by SKICC Employees Union through their president in connection with alleged malpractices, mismanagement and other gross irregularities committed by General Manager (Operations), Manager (Operations), Catering officer and others.

The officials were allegedly making personal deals with some national-level companies and firms in permitting them to organise functions at SKICC, in violation of rules and norms amounting to abuse of official position, breach of trust, thereby inflicting a huge loss to the State exchequer and the SVC had sought a report from the Director in this connection, he said.
