JAMMU, Aug 18: President J&K Pradesh Youth Congress, Uday Chib has flayed government’s decision to continue the operation of Toll Plaza at Sarore despite recent damage to the National Highway (NH).
In a handout, Chib expressed resentment against government’s lack of serious concern for the predicaments faced by the general public commuting on Jammu Pathankot NH.
He questioned the rationale behind imposing Toll on people for using a damaged and blocked NH asserting that such a practice is unfair and unreasonable.
The Youth Congress leader said that NHAI installed Toll Plaza at Sarore is violation of NH norms.
He pointed out that even BJP leadership had acknowledged the irregular and unauthorized installation of the Toll Plaza at Sarore.
Chib cautioned the authorities against testing patience of general public, especially as the approaching 2024 elections draw nearer.
He appealed to the government to suspend the Toll Plaza at Sarore till Jammu Pathankot NH is restored.
