Srinagar : Militants last night snatched 5 rifles from a police post while an attempt to snatch rifles from another post were foiled by the security guards at two separate places in South Kashmir.
Militants snatched 5 rifles from security guards at Dangiwaccha in Dooru area Anantnag during the night. These security men were guarding a Television tower in the area when militants barged into their post and snatched the rifles at gun point. The snatched weapons include 3 SLRs, one carbine and one INSAS.
Security guards foiled another attempt of weapon snatching by militants at village Sanroo in Pulwama at midnight.
Militants fired at migrant guards posted in Sanroo village to snatch weapons but they retaliated and foiled their attempt. Police and army later corroded off the area but militants had fled away.
