NEW DELHI : Ms Sushma Singh today took over as the fifth Chief Information Commissioner of the Central Information Commission (CIC).
President Pranab Mukherjee administered the oath of office to Ms Singh at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Ms Singh joined the CIC as Information Commissioner on September 23, 2009.
Prior to joining the CIC, Ms Singh served as Secretary in the Ministries of Information and Broadcasting, Panchayati Raj and the Development of the North East Region (DONER).
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) also approved the appointment of Mr H Pradeep Rao, currently Joint Secretary and Financial Adviser, Department of Expenditure, Finance, as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Department of Expenditure in Finance Ministry.
