Surya slams ton as KCSC, Vishal CC enter semis

JAMMU, Nov 3: Superb century (102) by Surya helped KC Sports Club to thrash Bathindi Cricket Club by 65 runs and enter semifinals of the 5th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup alongwith Vishal Cricket Club, which prevailed over Bahu Fort XI by a narrow margin of 14 runs at Parade Gound, here today.
In the first match, KC Sports drubbed Bathindi CC easily. Batting first, KC Sports Club scored a decent total of 163 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Surya scored a magnificent century, while Rohan Koul and Abhishant contributed 22 and 16 runs to the total respectively.
For Bathindi CC, Muneeb and Rahul took 2 wickets each, while Sajad and Sourav claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Bathindi Club bundled out for 98 runs in 17.3 overs. Ishfaq top scored with 23 runs, while Vansh and Waseem contributed 19 and 13 runs respectively. For KC Sports Club, Amritpal Singh took 3 wickets, while Arjun Choudhary, Bano and Ishan bagged 2 wickets each. Surya was declared as man of the Match for his splendid century.
In another match, Vishal Cricket Club got better of Bahu Fort Cricket Club by 14 runs. Batting firt, Vishal scored 137 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Yasir scored well made 50 runs, while Sandeep Singh contributed 43 runs to the total. Farooq also chipped in with 10 runs. Rohit was the most successful bowler for Bahu Fort CC, taking 3 important wickets, while Rahul took 2 and Rupesh one.
In reply, Bahu Fort Cricket Club managed to score 123 runs in the allotted overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by 14 runs. Aqib top scored with 31 runs, while Rahul and Amit contributed 20 and 15 runs respectively. For Vishal Cricket Club, skipper Rajesh Gill took 3 wickets, while RK Bhat and Aman Sharma claimed 2 wickets each. Vishal also picked one wicket, Yasir was adjudged as man of the Match for his contribution of 50 runs.
The match was officiated by Vinod Kandyara, Sandeep Manchanda and Sanjay, while the tournament is being organized by Simula Sports and Vishal Cricket Club in collaboration with Jammu Sports Council and J&K Police, under the overall supervision of Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and former Ranji Trophy player.
