Surankote Police rescues 15 bovine animals, arrests 3 smugglers

POONCH, June 18:   Surankote Police rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers at Buffaliaz today which were being smuggled to Kashmir valley.
A police team led by SHO Surankote, Bashir Ahmed DySP under the supervision of SDPO, Surankote Javed Ahmed Mir and on the overall directions of SSP Poonch Shamsher Hussian laid a naka on the road and rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers.
The police said the animals were being smuggled from Surankote to Kashmir via Mughal road. But after the Poonch Police on the directives of SSP installed three nakas on the road at different places the smugglers have changed the modus operandi.
To avoid the police Naka the smugglers brought down the animals from the vehicles and started journey by foot. But after getting the information Police team laid a naka in the way and caught hold of the smugglers and rescued the animals.
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Mohammed Rashid son of Mohammed Aziz of Gouni Chak Buffaliz, Shabir Ahmed, son of Abdul Qayoom and Manzoor Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed both residents of Thanamandi Rajouri.
The Surnkote Police has registered a case under FIR No 70 U/S 188 3 PCA.
