JAMMU, May 24: J&K Teachers Welfare Association has urged the Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture, Priya Sethi to order announcement of summer vacations from 1st June in Government as well as private schools and change the timings of all educational offices immediately because of the prevailing hot conditions in Jammu.
In a statement, president of the Teacher’s Welfare Association, S Jasmeet Singh Madaan said that with the sudden rise in temperature and the hot conditions prevailing in Jammu, it was not possible for students as well as teachers to move out under the scorching sun, so the Government should announce the holidays in schools and also change the timings in Educational offices from 8 am to 2 pm.
He urged the Minister to rescind the recent order, according to which timings in many Government offices, including offices of ZEO and CEO have been fixed from 10 am to 4 pm.
The TWA also demanded early release of pay of SSA Teachers and RMSA Masters.
