JAMMU, Feb 10: Suman Gupta, one of the prominent artist of the State has been nominated by the Lalit Kala Akademy (National Academy of Art) New Delhi as one of the jury member in the selection process of the prestigious National awards for 57th National Exhibition of visual arts.
Lalit Kala Akademy organizes annual national exhibition wherein a two level screening process is adopted for selecting the artist to confer National Exhibition Awards to the selected artists based on their artworks.
The Academy gives a lot of importance to this annual national exhibition as well as the selection process for conferring the awards and thus invites the jury of the eminent artists of India.
This year LKA has received more than 2,500 entries which at the initial stage have to be screened based on the photographs sent by the artists of their artworks intended to be displayed in the national exhibition.
