JAMMU, June 7: Former Minster and senior BJP leader, Ch Sukhnanddan has expressed his grave concern over the non functioning of lifts in Emergency Unit of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for last five days with authorities not taking pains to restore the same.
In a statement issued here, today Sukhnandan said that when patients and their attendants are already worried over the spread of deadly Coronavirus, the lack of facilities like lift in the emergency unit of GMC is further adding to woes of the people visiting the hospital for treatment of the patients or to enquire about their welfare.
He said it becomes very difficult to take a chronic patient to second, third and fourth floor of the Emergency Unit when the lift is not functioning. He said the issue was taken by him with hospital administration also but to no avail. He said how can the administration claim of providing better medicare facilities to patients when the lifts in the emergency unit of a prestigious medical college are not functioning for last five days.
