Sugar prices slide on adequate supply

NEW DELHI, Apr 18: Sugar prices drifted in the national capital today on adequate stocks position due to higher supplies from mills against reduced offtake by bulk consumers.

Marketmen said adequate stocks position due to higher supplies from producing belts against reduced offtake by bulk consumers mainly kept pressure on sugar prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 eased to Rs 2,670-2,840 and Rs 2,660-2,830 against last close of Rs 2,720-2,860 and Rs 2,710-2,850 per quintal respectively.

Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 slipped to Rs 2,525-2,675 and Rs 2,515-2,665 from previous levels of Rs 2,560-2,700 and Rs 2,550-2,690 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets – Rs 30.00-34.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,670-2,840 S-30 Rs 2,660-2,830.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,525-2,675 S-30 Rs 2,515-2,665.
