JAMMU, May 5: Rajouri – Poonch Student Union and All Jammu and Kashmir Paramedical Student Association have appealed people to foil the nefarious designs of some anti-social and anti-national elements who wanted to disrupt the forthcoming tourist season as well as Amarnath pilgrimage in the State by raising un-necessary controversies.
Addressing a joint press conference, here today, Raqeel Ahmed Khan and Dakhseesh Sharma, president of Rajouri – Poonch Student Union and Paramedical Student Association, respectively, alleged that separatists were trying to instigate people by spreading false propaganda on spurious drug case. “Student community and people of Jammu understand what the real intention of these propagandists is. People are intelligent and brave enough to withstand this onslaught and a backlash for these propagandists is inevitable and a lesson will be taught,” they warned.
Stressing that the Sham Lal Shamra, the then Health Minister had no role in purchase of spurious drugs, the student leaders said that some elements with vested interests had unleashed a war of propaganda against the minister who brought several reforms in the Health Department.
They hailed Sham Lal Sharma as the most efficient and popular Minister, who had always put people’s interest in the forefront and said that propaganda of drug scam was meant to malign image of the Jammu based Minister.
“However, these anti-nationals will not be allowed to disrupt the peace and malign image of Jammu’s Minister. We will come on roads in the form of big protests and agitations for the interest of Jammu region and general public,” they announced.
