UDHAMPUR, Aug 29: Students of Government Primary School, Plassan, Zone Ramnagar and the locals held a strong protest, here today demanding repair of the school building, which is lying in a dilapidated condition.
The protesting students and villagers raised slogans against the Education Department and the Udhampur district administration for their failure to take cognizance of the extremely bad condition of the school building and affecting necessary repair work.
They alleged that there was no repair of the school building for the last four year and student are forced to take classes in open. The school building was damaged in 2014 floods, which suffer more damage in the wind storm that hit the area sometime back.
The repeated damage to the school building completely rendered it unsafe and the students are now forced to take classes in open, the villagers rued.
Even as the matter was brought into the notice of concerned authorities a number of times, no action was taken.
