Students, villagers protest against shortage of staff

UDHAMPUR, May 2: The students of Government High School Sira, Tehsil Latti and local villagers of the area today held protest against the shortage of staff at the school.
The protest was led by Sarpanch and Panches of the area. The local people of Sira and the students of local Government High School joined in large number. They alleged that school was working without a Headmaster and moreover many posts of teachers/ masters were lying vacant. Out of the total 17 sanctioned posts only 7 teachers were in place while 10 posts were lying vacant. The studies of the students were suffering badly.
Arvind Koul, Chief Education Officer, Udhampur on telephone assured the protesting Sarpanch and others to resolve their problem as early as possible.
Meanwhile, in another case, a Primary School Kochal Upper Kalsote Block Moungri found locked today. The local villagers held protest against the Education department and said that there are three female teachers in this school. One teacher has been attached and one teacher is on child care leave. Only one teacher is running this school. They demanded adequate staff at the school.
