POONCH, July 15: The students of Government Girls Middle School, Rajpura in Mandi staged protest to get their building vacated from the occupation of BSF.
Reports said the actual building of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Rajpura was allotted to GDC Mandi and a Revenue building was provided to GMS Rajpura instead of that where school work was being carried on.
Students and their parents today blocked Mandi- Loran road and staged protest. They said that Border Security Force was stationed in this building during summer vacations and they are still in this building due to which study of students is suffering as they are compelled to sit in the open sky.
They demanded to get their building vacated without any further delay.
Later, senior Civil and Police officers reached the spot to pacify protestors and assured them that this issue will be redressed shortly. Tehsildar Mandi, Shahzad Latief Khan, said that BSF was temporarily stationed there for 10 days of summer vacations only. The shifting was delayed due to some issue, which leads to the protest.
