Students return from tour organised by army

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Twenty students of south Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian districts today returned from two week-long ‘Capacity Building’ tour to Jammu, Mumbai and Pune organised by army under the aegis of Chinar Corps.
A defence spokesman said here that that in its quest to enhance awareness of various sections of the society about the cultural richness and developmental activities in other parts of the country, the Army had organised this tour from September 29 to October 13.
“Upbeat with the lifetime experience of having visited premier institutes like the Indian institute of technology Mumbai, Infosys, Armed Forces Medical Collage, Army Institute of Technology and National Defence Academy Pune, as also interaction with the faculty and students of these institutes, the children expressed their excitement and joy on return,” the spokesman said.
He said that during their interaction with Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen Satish Dua, the students committed themselves to not only further build on this enriching experience themselves but also encourage others to benefit from such initiatives.
Appreciating the ‘zest for learning’ of these children, the Corps Commander reaffirmed the Army’s resolve to continue providing such avenues to the people of Kashmir especially the youth to explore new possibilities towards a brighter future.
