Students protest for repair of Ramnagar-Dudu-Basantgarh road

UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: Agitated over worst condition of Ramnagar to Dudu Basantgarh, Choki, Katwalt, Ghordi road, local students held a strong protest at village Choki against the Public Works Department, PWD (R&B) authorities, here today.
The protesting students were raising slogans and they blocked the Ramnagar to Chowki-Katwalt road for one hour. They were demanding immediate repair and black topping of the road.
The protesting students said that due to worst condition of the road, they used to get late to the school whereas in case of raining, Mini Bus does not ply and they fail to reach school. Despite manifold problems being faced by us, there has been no action by the district administration and PWD authorities to repair and improve the road condition,” they lamented.
Some locals of village Chowki, Katwalt and adjoining area also joined the protest and threatened an indefinite protest till the road is repaired.
Those who addressed the protest, included Narendra Singh, Mandeep Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Mushtaq Ali, Dharmendr Kumar, Sunil Kesar, Vinod Sharma, Sunil Singh, Rashid Ali, Mahendra Kumar and Kuldeep Kumar.
