KISHTWAR, Apr 24: Demanding hoisting of National Flag, the students of Government Degree College held protest here today.
A large number of students of GDC Kishtwar assembled outside college premises and raised slogans in favour of their demand. The students were demanding hoisting of the National Flag in the college premises.
After getting information, Principal of the institution Pawan Kumar Verma reached the spot and assured the students of taking up their demand with the concerned authorities.
“Students wrote to us over hoisting National Flag in the college within 2 days. I assured them it would be done following rules”, Principal said while talking to media persons.
“Today, students held a protest and had put the National Flag outside the college gate”, he said, adding that the students were assured that it would be done following rules laid down regarding the usage and hoisting of the National Flag in the college premises.
On the assurance, the protesting students dispersed.
