SAMBA, Aug 26: The students and their parents in Mandal area of Purmandal block today protested and blocked the road from 8am to 1 pm in protest against the lack of proper bus service in the area resulting in problems to students in going to their respective schools and colleges.
The protestors who squatted on the road did not allow any vehicle to pass except those belonging to emergency services. Raising slogans against the Government, they demanded that proper bus service be plied in the area and old buses be replaced by new ones with increasing number of passenger vehicles. They said the students do not get lift due to lack of bus service in the area and they have to travel in overload always.
The DC Samba along with ADC and other officers visited the area and assured the protestors that their demand will be settled at an earliest. On this assurance they lifted the road blockade.
