SAMBA, Sept 26: How will the children of village have a bright future when they do not know the name of their country and State.
This may sound incredible but is a fact that the students of Government Primary School, Nali Gujjar of Mohargarh Panchayat of district Samba don’t know the name of their country and State.
All the more they don’t know the name of Prime Minister, the one of the popular leaders of the country and the world.
The school which was established in the year 2005 is just 16 kilometers from district Samba.
When this correspondent visited the school today there was not even a single teacher present and the children were sitting outside the school and later returned to home as the teacher did not turn up.
The number of children in the school is 18, while there is only one teacher and under such circumstances how the better results can be expected from such Government schools. This way all the claims made by authorities on improving standard of education seem hollow, said the parent of the student in the village.
The number of children in the School was more than present strength but maximum of them left the school and took admission in a private educational institute as school remained closed for maximum days in a week.
When contacted Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria, said that the matter was brought in his notice and he will take up the issue with Director of School Education, Jammu so that the problem is solved and it is ensured that the students get good education in the school to have a better future.
