Students in Bani protest, demand arrest of contractual lecturer

KATHUA, Nov 30: The students of Bani today held a massive demonstration and took out a procession from Government Degree College Bani to Police Station demanding action against a contractual lecturer for painting a bad picture of Indian Army by describing the dreaded terrorists who attacked the Nagrota Army as martyrs while delivering a lecture in the class yesterday.
According to reports the protestors were demanding immediate arrest of the lecturer and registration of a case under Sedition Act against him for propagating anti antinationalism among the students and instigating them to support the terrorism.
The students have given one day ultimatum to police in registering FIR and taking action as warranted under law against him failing which they will launch a massive movement in the area.
The students have also taken serious exception to the behavior of the lecturer in the college during other routine affairs especially during the singing of national anthem and said that he was trying to sow the seeds of fragmented the two communities living in complete peace and harmony in the area for decades together.
