Srinagar, Jan 11: Students of several coaching centres today asked the Government to take measures to ensure their education does not suffer rather than imposing restrictions, ordering the suspension of physical classes.
Several students appeared in the Press Enclave in this regard who were seen raising slogans, urging the administration not to make their education a “target” as COVID cases rise in Kashmir.
One of the students who identified herself as Bazilla said that they are protesting against the order that the Government has issued and, as per her, the education of children becomes the first causality whenever such situations arise.
“We are against the orders that have been issued and if we see, every year, the first causality is the education even as other sectors are functioning properly,” she said.
It is to be noted here, earlier, the administration in Bandipora took action against several coaching centres that were seen up and running even as the Srinagar administration assured prompt action against the violators.
The students during the protest said that online education has not been helpful and that the same can never be a substitute. “Our mental health is suffering, our eyes suffer due to the online classes, we cannot take it anymore,” the students said.
The students said that they along with the teaching are vaccinated and that the classes should be allowed to operate under proper SOPs.
