Sir,
The inhuman incidents of hatred and intolerance even after 70 years of India’s Independence in the name of religious beliefs or disbeliefs are a blot on the fair name of Indian secularism and centuries old composite heritage of multiple colours. The unfortunate and shameful happenings, by words or violent acts, endanger not only one region’s or one state’s communal harmony, but badly shakes the magnificent Nation’s very soul. The anti-social and anti-national elements, though for a while, succeed in their nefarious design of creating wedge between the peace loving communities for their vested interests. Yet, the burning scar remains in the peoples heart, particularly in the innocent minds of young generation, for long. This is what we are passing over to our next generation.
The young generation, instead, should be taught true and sacred lesson of love, compassion and universal brotherhood within the four walls of home, school as well as society’s open environment. The earnest efforts to promote and strengthen the feelings of tolerance and communal harmony and simultaneously sincere efforts to counter the negative forces’ venomous activities, over or underground, in the country are imperative. It should be a permanent feature of all people. The Government from top to bottom should remain ever alert and the masses be involved in the pious process. The noble and patriotic campaign should reach every nook and corner of the country. Not even a single incident of such nature should ever occur any where. That must be our goal.
Yours etc….
