Pseudo Nationalism

Sir,
From the ancient ages, Nationalism simply was rendered as the feeling among individuals to lay down their all for the welfare of the kingdoms. But, with the evolution of time, the definition of nationalism became highly blurred especially in our country. The very original idea of nationalism was lost and a pseudo nationalism was preached by some sections of society in order to further their parochial selfish motives. They support partition and actively work to forment ethnic chauvinism.
The latest episodes happening in our country take our attention back to this dysfunctional system and the ever shrinking idea of nationalism. JNU stir and Jatt struggle has rocked our whole country. JNU people protesting against govt. call it a movement to do away with Sangh ideology, Brahamanism and revive the feeling of nationalism. But, reciting anti national slogans and preaching sedition in the name of regenerating nationalism is quite misleading and highly objectionable. These people should take a leaf out of the book of the brave soldiers and  martyrs Capt. Tushar Mahajan and Capt. Pawan Singh who laid their life selflessly for the welfare of the motherland. Nobody would have judged them if they had not performed such acts of vigour. But, the feeling of true patriotism led them all the way to make this ultimate sacrifice.
So, the diverse groups of society, including students, teachers, politicians, civil servants etc. should introspect themselves , give a thought to what true nationalism is, and preach accordingly for the greater good of the country .Only this can earn a tag of patriotic citizens for us.
Yours etc…..
