JAMMU, May, 8: The quarterly meeting of State Working and Executive Committee of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federations was held here, today under the aegis of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) which was chaired by Mahendra Kapoor, All India organising secretary of ABRSM.
The meeting was attended by all district presidents, secretaries and State body members of the Federation.
During the meeting all the teachers demanded streamlining and release of salary of all teachers and masters working under SSA/RMSA schemes. It was said during the meeting that the teachers working under these two schemes are not paid their salary for the last four months. More than sixty thousand teachers and masters working under these schemes are at the verge of starvation. They are facing many difficulties and hardships to run smoothly the expenditure of their families and have failed to shoulder the responsibilities of their children and old aged parents, the speakers added.
They said that these teachers are under great mental depression due to non release of salary and it is adversely affecting the studies of students.
All the teachers alleged that they projected their demands before the SPD, SSA and RMSA, Director School Education Jammu, Secretary School Education, Minister for Education, but in spite of that no concrete mechanism was adopted by the department to resolve the genuine demand of more than sixty thousand teachers and masters working under SSA and RMSA schemes.
They demanded streamlining of salary of teachers and masters working under SSA and RMSA schemes so that these teachers work at their respective places with their soul and mind.
Rattan Lal Sharma, State general secretary read the welcome address and Dev Raj Thakur State president proposed the vote of thanks.
Others who were present during the meeting included Maheshwar Prasad , Darshan Bharti (both State vice presidents), Neeraj Kumar , Kartar Chand , Radha Krishan , Narinder Kumar , Vipan Sharma, Gurdeep Singh, Gulshan Kumar, Neeraj Parihar , Rishi Chauhan, Sanjay Sharma, Sanjay Kumar , Rahul Kumar etc.
