WASHINGTON, Jan 19: The description of specific statements in a media report alleging President Donald Trump directed his former personal attorney to lie to Congress are not accurate, US Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Office spokesperson Peter Carr said in a statement. BuzzFeed originally reported on Thursday citing unnamed law enforcement officials that Trump personally directed his then-attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about talks related to building a Trump Tower in Moscow.
“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” Carr said on Friday.
