Sir,
This has reference to the write-up “Stop this provocation across India” by Shiban Khaibri.
I have yet to come across such a clear-cut, clear minded and an article with direct approach about the events all across India after Citizens Amendment Act came into force.
It is a tragedy that the political outfits that have not been able to gain power in 2019 elections to parliament are feeling so frustrated that they have dropped distinction between the Govt headed by Narendra Modi and National interest. If they want to rub the Govt the wrong way, let them, by all means, but why on issues that are detrimental to the National intrest. If CAA was drafted without keeping the persecuted minorities of our theocratic neighbouring countries in view a large population of the majority community of these countries would also have queued up for asylum in India claiming persecution. Who would prove whether they were actually persecuted or were feigning persecution with nefarious design – as dictated by destabilising forces of our neighborhood – in their mind.
In any case what has an Indian citizen (Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian or any member of any other religious denomination) to fear from CAA?
The anti-CAA cabal is pointing out and chest thumping that they don’t want to stand in a queue for proving their citizenship/Nationality. First of all who is asking them to do so? Secondly, don’t they produce their documents when they apply for a passport, bank loan, ration card, aadhaar card and PAN card, getting subsidy and assistance from the Govt, sim for the mobile phone, admission into colleges and university, gas and electricity connection, purchase of land/house/commercial properties and above all when they are looking for visa for US/UK/Europe/Dubai/Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or UAE. If they can produce documents for all the activities mentioned above then why not for other such reasons?
