Jammu, Sept 14: Former MP and State president Samajwadi Party Sheikh Abdul Rehman has appealed to all the political parties not to play politics at the time when the State is facing worst ever tragedy of this magnitude causing huge loss to the life and property. He requested to all the political parties and NGOs to cooperate with the Army and other Govt. agencies in rescuing and rehabilitating the peoples.
Talking to media persons Mr. Rehman thanked Narendra Modi for his prompt action in rescuing the people and appealed to the Prime Minister to invite the International relief agencies for providing relief and rescue operations in the Jammu and Kashmir. The help of International agencies will expedite the rescue and a relief operation which is also help the people by providing more medicines and doctors which is the need of the hour, keeping in view the chances of large scale epidemic after the floods.
Mr. Rehman said that the recent calamity had affected both the neighbour countries. To fight such calamities both the countries India and Pakistan should make a joint strategy to face such calamities, because ultimately precious lives are lost in both the countries and said that joint strategy to face the natural calamity might help in future to bridge the gap between the two neighbouring nuclear countries.
Mr. Rehman appreciated the war footing efforts put in rescue operations by Army, Air Force, National Disaster Management and other paramilitary forces for coming to rescue at the very crucial life threatening condition in the State.
He said that after seeing the calamity of this magnitude, the State Govt. and the Central Govt. should prepare a full proof plan and steps taken against apprehension confronted by those who have suffered the loss of life and property in view of approaching harsh winter season and spread of epidemic and appealed to the Govt. to pro-activate the administration to speed up the rescue operations, rehabilitation and provide free rations for at least six months in addition to free blankets, medicines, and construction of the damaged houses.
