Police cops attacked: one held, ex-CPO’s son at large

JAMMU, Sept 14: Police arrested a person for murderous attack on two cops in Bantalab, while son of ex-Chief Prosecuting Officer (CPO) was still absconding.
As per police sources, Pintu Manhas, son of Baldev Singh, ex-CPO was engaged with a lady in a car, whom he pretended his wife, in late hours near Bantalab.
The police cops on duty when enquired from him (Pintu Manhas) about the lady, he along with a group of around four persons including Kuldeep Singh passed indecent remarks and also attacked the police party with sharp edged weapons.
In the incident, Inderjeet Singh, a selection grade constable and Dharamveer Singh, constable received injuries. They were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where they are undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
Police has registered a case in this regard and arrested Kuldeep Singh. Further investigation into the case is going on.
Meanwhile, locals of the area held protest demonstration against police for arresting Kuldeep Singh. The protestors alleged that the Kuldeep Singh has no role in this incident and police arrested him illegally.
The senior police officers including SDPO Domana Sanjay Parihar rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors.
