AKHNOOR, Apr 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Akhnoor area have recovered a stolen scooty and motorcycle and arrested on person in connection with the theft.
A police official said that Rahul Kumar of Pull Chandian, Akhnoor, reported the theft of his scooty at Police Station Akhnoor.
Followed by this, he said a case FIR number 59/2025 was registered under section 303(2) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Akhnoor.
Acting promptly, a police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Rohit Gandhi and supervised by SDPO Virender Gupta began an investigation, the police official said.
During the probe, he said, one suspect, Sabba Masih of Tarn Taran, Punjab, at present Nai Basti, Pargwal, Akhnoor, was taken into custody for questioning.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed to the crime, he said.
Based on his disclosure, the stolen scooty was recovered, he said, adding that police also seized a motorcycle (JK02CJ5403) during the investigation, which is being dealt with under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Further investigation is ongoing, added the police official.
