JAMMU, Oct 29: Government today constituted a Special Task Force (STF) to check the menace of illegal extraction of sand and other minor minerals from the bank of River Tawi and its tributaries.
“Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu (Law & Order) will be the chairman of the STF while Superintendent of Police HQ Jammu, Assistant Conservator of Forests Jammu and District Mineral Officer, Jammu (Geology & Mining Department) shall be the members of the Force,” said an order issued by the Government.
