JAMMU, Aug 21: A meeting of the State Pensioners’ Association was held today under the chairmanship of Dev Raj Baru to discuss their demands.
A large number of State pensioners attended the meeting and criticized the State Government for not considering their demands.
The Association criticized the Government for not taking serious steps regarding Quantum Pension to the retired persons after attaining the age of 80, 85, 90, 95, 100 and above at the rate of 10%, 20%, 40% and 100% which has been given to the pensioners of Central Government in the year 2009.
Reiterating other demands of the Association like installment of sixth Pay Commission and enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, State general secretary of the Association, ML Abrol said Coalition Government of the State is not serious to fulfill the pending demands of the pensioners.
The Association strongly warned the Government that they would Gehrao the Ministers of the Coalition Government if their demands were not fulfilled soon.
