REASI, Aug 21: 2-days competition in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Volleyball, Wrestling and Judo for Under-19 boys and girls got underway at Zorawar Sports Stadium, here today.
While speaking on the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, Kanchan Bala, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports said that Sports is the appropriate medium to ensure the wholesome development of the individual personality. Dr Pritam Lal, CDPEO, Reasi was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Prominent among others, the opening ceremony was attended by the Principal Govt Boys Hr Sec School Reasi, Madan Mohan Khajuria, Principal Girls Hr Sec School Reasi, P D Sharma, Headmaster HS Kambal Danga, Romail Singh and Jaswant Singh, Zonal Physical Education Officer.
The Tournament was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr S S Chib, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Reasi.
In Kho-Kho Under-19 boys, HSS Bharakh beat HSS Katra by 15-07; HSS Pouni trounced HSS Mahore by 15-08; HSS Bharakh drubbed HSS Reasi by 13-07 and HSS Panthal outplayed HSS Pouni by 17-07.
In Kabaddi Under-19 boys, HSS Pouni defeated HSS Mahore by 33-15; HSS Tote got better of HSS Bharakh by 27-14; HSS Arnas outplayed HSS Salal by 35-22 and HSS Pouni outclassed HSS Panthal by 44-21.
