State pensioners’ deputation meets Governor’s Advisor

JAMMU, Mar 2: A deputation of All Jammu & Kashmir Pensioners’ & Civil Society  met the Parvez Dewan, Advisor to Governor and projected the issues of the State pensioners.
The deputation led by Ajit Singh Adyal,  president of  the organization and chairman,  Government  Transport Undertaking  Pensioners of  SRTC during the meeting the members raised the issues of the pensioners and urged upon the State Administration to resolve  those. They further demanded enhancement of  Medical allowance from Rs 300 per month to Rs 2000 per month as the cost of medicines has gone high.
Mr Adyal further urged to remove discrimination regarding grant of SRO-14 of 1996 of time bound promotions in favour of erstwhile GTU pensioners category drivers, cleaners and conductors of SRTC/ Grade Pay of SRTC employees at par with State Government employees.
They also demanded regularization of the services of  casual, consolidated, contractual and daily rated workers, removal of discrimination in dearness allowance of  JKSRTC employees, payment of outstanding  arrears of  6th Pay Commission and HRA/CCA/COLA/ DA  etc  in favour of  SRTC pensioners/ employees.
The Advisor listened to the issues and assured to consider their  genuine demands after discussing with concerned officers.  Prominent among those who accompanied included  N D Sharma, Jagdish Kumar, Prof Kalidass, S K Dubey, C D Verma, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Pritpal Singh, Darshan Kumar, Mohd Ishaq, Hira Lal, Shamsher Singh and Om Parkash.
