JAMMU, Sept 27: Cong equally responsible for bulldozing democratic institutions at grass-root: Bali
JAMMU, Sept 27: Observing that BJP is going to sweep Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) elections in Jammu province, former Minister and MLA Raipura-Domana assembly segment, Bali Bhagat today said that developmental activities would be accelerated in Jammu after constitution of democratically elected ULBs.
Addressing gathering of the party workers at BJP office of Raipur-Domana Constituency Bhagat said that conduct of the Urban Local Bodies elections would facilitate flow of Rs 1000 crore central funds annually for the developmental activities in the State.
Cautioning people against nefarious designs of opposition parties in general and Congress in particular, Bhagat said that Congress was equally responsible for not allowing grass-root level democracy to strengthen in J&K. “Had previous NC-Congress Government headed by Omar Abdullah conducted ULBs polls in the State, people of Jammu region would have been getting better civic amenities”, he observed and regretted that for lust of power Congress leadership has always compromised with interest of the common masses. “Defeat of Congress candidates is must to ensure justice with Jammu region”, he said and exuded confidence that BJP would sweep JMC polls easily.
“Gone are the days when Congress leadership befooled people through deceitful acts. Now people are well aware of all developmental plans of BJP”, he said and added that for years together Congress has also befooled people with one way or other.
He further said that National Conference (NC) and PDP have given boycott call only to deprive people of J&K of their democratic rights. “Real faces of NC and PDP leadership have been exposed because one thing has been established that both the parties are working on the directions of anti-India forces”, he added.
