Police, JU organise anti-drug awarness in campus

JAMMU, Sept 27: J&K Police & University of Jammu today organized anti-drug awareness progamme in University campus in collaboration with Department of student welfare (DSW) and Department of Lifelong Learning in the form of Nukkad Nataks to make the youth aware about drugs, rape victims, internet related issues, women empowerment, community policing and role of Police to help victims and support the general public to come forward and help/support the Police in performing their duties and cooperate with them in their functioning.
In this awareness programme J&K Police, through ‘Nukkad Nataks’ tried to tell the emerging problems in the society and also let know what are the consequences if these things are not being addressed by the society as a whole.
This campaign was attended by  Prof. Parmeshwari Sharma, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Kavita Suri, Director of Department of Lifelong Learning,  SDPO South Dr. Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Headquarters R.C. Kotwal under overall guidance of SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
The students/staff of Jammu University have appreciated the role of J&K Police for controlling the drugs activities in Jammu District. SSP Hqrs. Jammu (being Nodal Officer) has also advised the youths to keep themselves away from drug abuse and channelizing their energy in sports activities.
