FMPHWs protest enters 32nd day

JAMMU, Sept 27: The ongoing protest demonstration of Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMHW) here today entered into day 32.
The protesters raised anti-Government slogans and demanded delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (corpus-delinking).
They also demanded the release of their pending salary since March 2018 and clearing the departmental promotion committee of FMPHW as LHV etc which they claim is pending since last 5 years.
The protesters further demanded that job functions of FMPHWs must be fixed at par with other working categories of health sector.
They also demanded up-gradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacist, Lab Tech, X-Ray Tech, Dental Tech and Ophthalmic Tech.
Their other demands included creation of post of LHVs in new PHCs and publishing of the seniority list of FMPHWs in official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions.
Still more demands of protesting FMHW included 50 per cent quota for trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as Health Educators.
The participants in the protest included Neelam Kumari, Surya Akhter, Sapna Gupta, Mamta Devi, Sunita Devi and others.
