POONCH, Mar 13: Outpla-ying their rivals convincingly in the semifinals of the ongoing District Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament, Stadium XI Poonch and Khalsa Club Poonch entered the finals and will lock horns against each other in the summit clash at Sports Stadium, here tomorrow.
In the first semifinal played today between YCC and Khalsa Club, Khalsa won the toss and scored 62 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 8 overs. Sohail scored 20 runs in 18 balls and Ravi contributed 17 in 12 balls. From YCC, Saim and Saqib took 2 wickets each.
Chasing a target of 63 runs, YCC bundled out for just 36 runs and lost the match by 27 runs. Zahid scored 14 runs off 18 balls. From Khalsa Club, Gurjot took 4 wickets, while Ankush and Vicky claimed 1 wicket each.
In another semifinal, Stadium XI defeated Rahoofi Club by 6 wickets.
Earlier, Rahoofi Club scored 50 runs in the allotted 8 overs. Shabir top scored with 18 runs, while Israr Charak contributed 14 runs to the total. From Stadium XI, Gurvinder and Deepak took 2 wickets each.
Stadium XI chased 51 runs in just 6.5 overs. Pawan Sharma top scored with 22 runs off just 10 balls, while Waseem Raja scored 17 runs off 15 balls. From Rahoofi Club, Imran took 2 wickets.
The matches were officiated by Paramjit Singh, Aman Sharma, Ishtiaq Ahmed and Manik Sharma as impires, while Kumail Nadeem maintained the score book.
Manager sports stadium Poonch Nirdosh Kumar is overall in-charge of this tournament, while the tournament is being organized by the Poonch District Tennis Ball association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Tennis Ball Association.
