POONCH, Dec 19: Stadium XI lifted the Sub Junior boys Hockey title of the Poonch District Hockey Championship, which concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
The final match of the Championship was played between Stadium XI and Oberio Hockey Club Poonch.
Stadium XI won the match by 2-0 goals. For Stadium XI Shahid and Jagmeet netted the ball in 40th and 49th minutes of the match respectively.
Earlier, Oberio Hockey Club Poonch drubbed Stadium Orange by 3-0 goals in the semifinals to seal berth in the finals. For Oberio Club, Simran scored two goals in 5th and 25th minutes of the match, while Jagmeet netted the ball in 45th minute of the match.
The Championship was organized by Hockey Poonch under the aegis of Hockey J&K and under the overall supervision of Kanta Andotra, president Hockey J&K, Gurdeep Singh Bakshi, General Secretary Hockey J&K, Rajinder Singh Kuku, Sr. Vice President. The Championship was sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
Madan Lal, Principal DIET Poonch was the chief guest on the occasion, while prominent among others present were Sham Lal Sharma, Treasurer Hockey J&K, Tanveer Dar, Ajay Uttam, Ram Prakash, Sourab Sharma and Rohit Sharma.
The match was officiated by Pawan Kumar, Matinderpal Singh, Rohit Sharma and Gurjot Singh.
The Championship is being conducted under technical supervision of Sham Lal Sharma, treasurer Hockey J&K.
