KATHUA, Nov 12: As a part of public outreach programme, started by Commissioner State Taxes, Rashmi Singh, the Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes Enforcement (STE), Kathua (stationed at Lakhanpur), held an interactive cum informative session with the owners of banquet halls and hotels with banquet halls under the supervision of Ranjeet Singh , DY. Commissioner, State Taxes, Kathua and overall supervision cum guidance of Namrata Sharma, Additional Commi-ssioner Administration & Enforcement Jammu Division.
The Programme was attended by Sona Gupta AC, Sandeep Gupta STO, Inspector, Sunil Sharma and Sunil Khajuria. Among the participants Sohan Lal Avlon Resorts, Yash Khajuria of Khajuria Farms , Tangri of Saver Resorts, R. Sodhi of Sodhi Resorts, Sushil Gupta were prominent speakers. The hoteliers also highlighted problems faced by them. They highlighted that the tax rate be reduced from 18 % to 5% and they be brought under composition scheme. They also asserted that the resorts which are not under GST ambit must also be brought into it.
