JAMMU, Feb 28: Chairman, 35 Sikh Shaheed Sabha (SSS), Nanak Singh Bedi, has expressed dismay that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah did not speak about the killings of 35 innocent Sikhs of Village Chittisinghpora, who were brutally massacred by an unknown gunman on March 20, 2000.
In a statement issued here, Bedi said, “How can Chief Minister forget to mention the basic tragedy of killings of 35 Sikhs of Chittisinghpora while taking up the issue of Pathribal case in the State Legislature when both are closely related with each other?”
Alleging that the investigations in the Chittisinghpora Massacre have not been taken to logical conclusions, Bedi requested the Chief Minister to get the matter probed in a transparent manner and bring the facts on the surface, which would help restoring confidence of the Sikh Community living in the State, especially in Kashmir Valley.
