SSP Poonch seeks cooperation for law & order, drug menace

JAMMU, Feb 17: As a part of public outreach programme, SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra along with among other police officers attended the meeting with public representatives and prominent respectables of Gursai general area.
The meeting was also attended by SDPO Mendhar Sheezan Bhat, SHO PS Gursai Insp. Farooq Ahmed and staff of Sub Division Mendhar.Public from all corners of Gursai and Harni including citizens, members of PRIs, Auqaf committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federations and various Market Associations attended the meeting.
During the interaction, participants raised various issues of public importance. The SSP Poonch listened to the grievances patiently and thereafter assured them that their genuine grievances will be resolved on priority and every possible help will be provided to the people of the area and issues will be taken up with concerned departments for their early redressal.
The participants were requested to cooperate with police and administration in maintaining law and order and ending drug menace in the area and in identifying anti-national/ social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment. They were assured that J & K Police is ever ready to provide help to citizens of Poonch 24×7. On rehabilitation, citizens were requested to come forward so that counselling and proper medical treatment can be provided to addicts for their rehabilitation .Issues of public transport and requirement of police post in certain areas were also discussed in detail.
