RAMBAN, July 6: Stay aware about cyber crime which can be committed by any virtual person by taking advantage of ignorance of the user.
This was stated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban PD Nitya while interacting with women folk from Kadma, Sawni, Kunfer and Chanderkote Panchayats.
Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma and SHO Chanderkote Inspector Vijay Choudhary were also present during the meeting.
The lady Sarpanchs and panchs played a pivotal role in organizing this meeting wherein a large number of young girls, mainly students, working women and other ladies took part.
At the outset of the meeting, Additional SP Ramban presented the welcome address.
SSP Ramban PD Nitya spoke about how it is difficult for women to chalk out a space of her own in the outside competitive world and the importance of staying strong willed in tough circumstances. She emphasized on different nuances of domestic violence, abuse which women suffer and how to talk about it and reach out to police. Issues related to importance of education and career planning were discussed with special focus on how to be financially independent in order to take important decisions in life.
Young girls present in the meeting were full of hopes and energy looking forward to their future and interacted enthusiastically.
Lastly, the role of social media and how mindfully it should be used was discussed in which emphasis was laid on to how to take privacy issues seriously and beware of cyber crime which can be committed by any virtual person taking the advantage of ignorance of the user.
In the end, ASP Ramban Rajni Sharma gave the vote of thanks and said that more such functions are expected to be conducted to make policing more women friendly and to address the issues of crime against women.
