KATHUA, June 9: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Commandant IRP 19th Battalion Benam Tosh accompanied by SP Santokh Raj and Deputy SP Deepak Tufchi visited Lakhanpur, interacted with officers and jawans on the ground and addressed the genuine grievances of the officials.
At the gateway of J&K, where the officers and jawans are actually performing hard duties amid second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, SSP Benam Tosh also on the ground interacted with and liaised with top functionaries of district police administration including SSP Kathua RC Kotwal, DySP DAR Kathua Sukhdev Singh Jamwal who is also supervisory officer of Lakhanpur and SHO Lakhanpur Inspector Sumeet Sharma.
A joint meeting of two companies was also held at Lakhanpur with a view to listen to them and to solve the problems being practically faced by the frontline officials and to boost their morale. The officials aired their collective as well as individual grievances at the meeting, which were addressed on the spot.
While speaking, SSP Benam Tosh said that he has issued directions to all the controlling officers and office dealing hands to personally reach out to the officials who are performing toughest duties in the fields and provide all kinds of help and counseling they require with regard to their service matters and financial incentives.
He further said that henceforth field officials would not have to wait too long for medical reimbursements, GPF withdrawals, TA, children education allowance, uniform allowance and other allowances disbursements. The telephonic calls of the field jawans shall be treated like that of the VIPs, the Commandant assured the jawans.
Those officials who worked wholeheartedly towards saving the lives of themselves and also of others from deadly COVID-19 pandemic, shall be handsomely rewarded, the CO announced.
SP Santokh Raj Deputy Commandant and Deputy SP Deepak Tufchi asked the officials to display discipline and assured them that all the demands put forward by them including strengthening of manpower shall be fulfilled at the earliest.
