JAMMU, June 9: Reacting on the landslide that occurred at Circular Road in Jammu City, Former Minister J&K and Senior Congress leader Yogesh Sawhney on Wednesday heavily criticized the local authorities and said that JMC should be held responsible for the damage that has been done.
“The landslide occurred on a dry day and five vehicles were buried under the debris. Another landslide had occurred in the same region not long ago due to rains and water logging and had caused damage to property and vehicles. It has been only a month since repairs and another incident has occurred in the same area”, he said and added that JMC authorities are responsible.
Former Minister said that the locals are paying the cost of JMC’s recklessness, adding that it is completely the authorities’ failure and lack of efficiency in maintaining infrastructure and development and ensuring the safety of people.
“We need a proper inquiry, a long term solution and transparent action now”, he demanded.
